1962
| There were 10 productions during the 1962 season that ran from April 28 through September 15. In the program for the ninth production of the season, Harvey, producer Michael Ellis described the season as "a bad one, primarily because three new plays didn't come off well and because they followed one after the other late in the season. Had they come early in the season, they'd have been forgotten by now. Had they been scattered, there would have been intervening peaks of pleasure. But they weren't, alas." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

From July 23 to August 4 was another Playhouse world premiere, a show entitled When The Beer Goes National. The play starred Paul McGrath and Playhouse favorite, Frances Reid. In the program for the following show, producer Michael Ellis said that inspite of a decent production, the second week of When The Beer Goes National was the worst week the Playhouse ever had in July or August. He added that he had "yet to find some one who can articulate to me why Beer was so bad that it literally hung a pall over the Playhouse." |
