1994

1994 started with a holiday tradition, Jesus Christ Superstar and continued with a roster of musicals. Two musicals made their Playhouse debuts that season: The Goodbye Girl and The Will Rogers Follies. The latter was performed again in 1996.
John Wilmes played Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. He would return in 1995 to portray Jesus again.
42nd Street was the first show of the regular season. It starred Kim Reed as Peggy Sawyer and Guil Fisher as Julian Marsh.
Oklahoma! was performed in June. Jonathan Stewart played Curly and Jennifer Welch was Laurey. The cast also featured Jason Raize as Jess/Dream Curly and Sean Burger as Farmer Carnes.
A highlight of the season was The King and I. Anna was portrayed by Colleen Tueth and Christian De Vries as the King.
The Will Rogers Follies was performed in November of 1994. Phil Simmons starred as the legendary storyteller. Jill Kleinguenther starred as Ziegfeld's Favorite. This was a publicity shot taken at the New Hope-Ivyland Railroad in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
La Cage aux Folles was performed again in 1994. This time around, Zaza was played by Michael Klausner. It is a role that he would play again in 1997. Opposite him in this 1994 production was Guil Fisher who played Georges.
