1995

Audiences saw a mix of drama and musical comedy during the Playhouse's 56th Season. Several audience favorites were performed that season. The Sound of Music, Man of La Mancha, Guys and Dolls and South Pacific were just a few of the shows seen on the stage.
Noises Off was the first show of the regular season. Audiences got to see several Playhouse regulars show off their comedic skills. Things turned very scary for the second show of the season. Dracula was performed with Guil Fisher playing the lead. Also pictured is Jenny Johnson as Lucy.
Phantom was fast becoming a Playhouse tradition. This season, the Phantom was portrayed by Phillip Peterson with Christine being played by Catherine Lavalle. Catherine could later be seen on Broadway in The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Phillip Peterson also portrayed Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha. Playing his sidekick Sancho was Danny Darquette.
Guys and Dolls featured Michael Rupp as Nathan Detroit and Tracy Burns as Miss Adelaide. Also in the cast was Sean Burger as Nicely-Nicely Johnson. Sean returns during the 1998 Season to star in Sugar Babies.
Catherine Lavalle also starred as Nellie Forbush in the 1994 production of South Pacific. Also seen in this production shot is Guil Fisher as Emile de Becque.
In the Fall, we revisited the 1960's with a production of Hair. Pictured from left to right: Lee Berman, Larry Weiss, Chris Dell'Armo and Jill Kleinguenther.
Voted one of the best productions of 1995 by theatrical reviewer Stuart Duncan, Sweeney Todd mesmorized audiences. The talented cast was headed by Phil Peterson as Sweeney Todd and Kara Maureen Powers as Mrs. Lovett. The cast also included Catherine Lavalle as Johanna and Sean Berger as the Beadle.
Eddie Mekka made a return visit to the Playhouse in the Fall of 1995. He starred as Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Eddie is seen here with David Whiteman.
The season ended with a production of A Chorus Line and we were off planning the 1996 Season!
